Steering Axle of Agricultural Machinery:

Definition and Function: The steering axle of agricultural machinery is an important part of the chassis of agricultural machinery. Its main function is to support the front weight of the agricultural machinery and achieve the steering function of the agricultural machinery, enabling the agricultural machinery to drive and turn flexibly in the field or on the road for various agricultural operations.

Structural Components:

Cross Beam: It is the main supporting part of the steering axle, connecting other parts on both the left and right sides, and bearing the weight from the upper part of the agricultural machinery and various forces generated during steering.

Kingpin Seat: Installed at both ends of the cross beam, it is used to connect the steering knuckle so that the steering knuckle can rotate around the kingpin seat to achieve steering.

Steering Knuckle: Connected with the kingpin seat, the outer end of which usually has a hub assembly installed, and tires are installed on the hub assembly. The steering knuckle plays a role in transmitting steering force and supporting the tires during the steering process.

Crank Arm: Connected to one side of the steering knuckle and connected to the crank arm on the other side through the steering tie rod. The crank arm swings with the action of the steering cylinder or other steering driving devices during the steering process, driving the steering knuckle to rotate.

Steering Tie Rod: Connects the crank arms on the left and right sides, transmits the movement of the crank arm on one side to the other side, enabling the steering knuckles on the left and right sides to rotate synchronously to ensure the smoothness of the steering of the agricultural machinery.

Working Principle: When the driver turns the steering wheel, the steering cylinder (for hydraulically steered agricultural machinery) or other steering driving devices in the steering system start to work. The generated force is transmitted to the steering knuckle through components such as the crank arm and the steering tie rod, making the steering knuckle rotate around the kingpin seat, and then driving the hub assembly and the tires to rotate to achieve the steering of the agricultural machinery.
